Taiwan
also known as Formosa, is an island south of China. The
first plantations were founded close to the current capital city of
Taipeh. Today, tea is mainly cultivated in the wide highland valleys on
an altitude of up to 2,400 metres, in Central Taiwan. Mainly green
teas, but also excellent Oolong varieties are grown here. These bloomy,
aromatic teas are very popular in Europe.
