Fred's Hour of Birth

Fred, our floating tea ball, mainly consists of polypropylene, which is already supplied to us in the correct color in form of plastic chips. This material is mechanically formed into the body and hollow head. The hollow space in the body, which is needed for Fred being able to float, is cut manually in a further production step. The same is done with all individual components such as beak, eyes and saucer. Fred’s head is created by hand and its beak and eyes are attached manually. To ensure that neither the beak nor the eyes fall off, all these parts are placed in a machine and attached under high pressure. Then, the head is attached to the body by hand. In order to ensure water tightness, the bottom is attached to the body with high pressure. During the final steps, Fred receives its tea ball and saucer and is made ready for transportation. Each day approximately 6.000 ducks are produced.
